I wouldn't be opposed to signing Gagner for the 3rd line. I think Grabner on the 3rd line would be disappointment city for us and would be better suited on the 4th line with Fast. We still need a 4th line center and it will be interesting who they get for that.

we have 12 million in cap space to sign Kreider, Miller, Hayes and McIlrath and hopefully Vesey, and hopefully we go into the season with at least one million in space

lets stop signing crap players

Was hoping we'd sign Grabner. Will fit nicely with us. Only other FA I wanted was Stamkos, but kind of relieved he re upped in Tampa. At this point I don't see a need to get rid of Nash. He's only got 2 seasons left on contract. Totally agree with assessment of D Biggest need is getting rid of Staal. Girardi I can stomach for 1 more year. Buffalo has tons of cap space, and if Nothing happening with Vessey I'd trade Staal for his rights! AV needs to give younger guys a chance. Also, FYI.... Gagner plays center.

with Lundqvist in net, we are still a playoff team. BUT, without significant upgrades acquired via trade (or all around career years), I wont be expecting anything more than another 1st round exit.

I still think its only a 5% chance Vessey actually signs in New York...I just hope that isn't their thought process to salvage the offseason

Just my thinking...his dad factor in Toronto, buffalo owning his rights and having him train with Eichel, other teams could offer him top 6 ice time right away. I just don't have much confidence he will pick the Rangers

I don't get the Gerbe signing, he's redundant to Fast/Grabner/Hrivik/whoever else will be on our 4th line. Grabners speed could be good for us and he's good on the PK. But now we have 4 4th line wingers IMO. Grabner on the 3rd line will be a disappointment. I would trade Hayes for Coyle if Minnesota would do it.

Klein for Athanasiou and then sign Justin Schultz to a 1 year deal which opens up a spot for Shattenkirk next season

With Torts loving Girardi and Columbus trying to get rid of Hartnell, how would u guys feel about a swap with us retaining 1 million on Girardi's contract. Hartnell only has 3 years remaining and could help balance our lineup.

i dont like tbe idea of retaining salary, but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea if it were part of a greater overall plan. but on its own, its almost pointless, just filling one hole while creating another.

Is there any rumor that the Rangers reaching out to Matt Cullen? This would at least be in the front of the dollar store. He is still a good face off guy and look what he has done in the playoffs!!! He can still play and Pitt can't afford to keep him!!! Sign Cullen back up!!!

We need someone for the 3rd line with Buch and Hayes. Grabner/Fast/Gerbe/Hrivik etc will all be disappointments on that 3rd line. Also Hartnell could slot up if an injury occurs and brings some grit/leadership.

Nash Stepan Zucc
Kreider Brass Miller
Buchnevich Hayes Hartnell
Grabner X Fast

McD Klein
Skeji Holden
Staal McIlrath

I would almost switch Buch and Kreider or Miller and make that 3rd line a big physical line.

Haven't heard anything. Could see them making a run for Vesey on August 15 and also possibly Gagner. Cullen would be interesting, I prefer some more speed there.
